Goalmine .... A journey into the world of football
Football fascinates millions of people every day. Worldwide, in and around thousands of stadiums. Football brings people together. It is much more than just a game. That's what Goal Mine is about.
Goal Mine is watching, listening, searching and playing for the young and the old. The tour is interpreted as an interactive journey through the world of football, with films, images, sounds, interviews and all sorts of interactive displays.
A tribute to the pioneers
Goal Mine is about the game, the players, their entourage, their fans, the stadiums they play in and the long tradition of the game. Here in Genk competitive football started in the miners districts. From the merger between the two miners clubs, originated K.R.C. Genk. Goal Mine's journey into football starts of with a tribute to the pioneers, with interviews, films, images, memorabilia and an interactive database.
Emotion on and around the pitch.
A players' tunnel leads the visitors to today's football and onto the pitch where it all happens. Football is tension and passion. Extreme joy and bitter disappointment. A video wall shows players and coaches in the heat of the battle. But even football heroes are vulnerable. Goal Mine l(literally) x-rays their body and zooms in on their weak spots.
Players and fans : a passionate relationship
Stadiums rise up everywhere. Practical and modest or dazzling and spectacular. Goal Mine shows what it takes to organise a game and to operate the stadium.
No football without fans. It's their enthusiasm that keeps the players going.
Goal Mine presents four types of fans. Through an interactive test you can find out which kind of fan you are.
Gaming zones and quiz
