On Saturday evening KRC Genk drew 3 - 3 against AA Gent. In a spectacular match Barda scored the opening goal after which Gent went ahead before the break, through Ruiz and Foley. At first, Genk set things right in the second half. Toth and Barda (penalty) put them 3 - 2 ahead. Five minutes before full time, Foley with his second goal of the evening equalized and gave Racing a very cold shower.

Hugo Broos chose to leave Vossen on the bench and positioned Haroun in front of central midfielders De Decker and Toth and behind lone striker Barda. On the right wing Itzhaki made his debut.

Genk started the game brightly. After barely seven minutes, Barda outsmarted the offside trap, outplayed the keeper and scored. Genk pushed ahead and played a quite decent first half hour. But when Tiago had to pull out injured and Genk were down to ten for some time, Gent struck back. Foley provided Ruiz and some time later they switched roles. On both occasions they managed to score, which put the 1 - 2 on the scoreboard at the interval.

Genk started the second half with fresh courage and through Toth, who launched the attack and was at the end of it, they equalized 2 - 2. The swift equalizer gave Genk new heart and they pushed on. On the one hour mark, De Roeck fouled Barda on the edge of the area. The referee sent him off and awarded Genk a penalty. Barda netted his tenth of the season. Reduced to ten, Gent clinched a point at the very last moment when Foley took the Genk defence for a ride with only five minutes left to play.
