During a press conference KRC Genk have disclosed their transfer policy. "I'm convinced, more than ever, that Genk will soon be a top club," CEO Dirk Degraen said.
One day after the winter transfer window closed KRC Genk disclosed their transfer policy. On the incoming side there were the transfers of Bailly (on loan with an option) and Tshimanga. Outgoing were Sandomierski (on loan to his former club), Backx and Pudil. Further on the transfer of Kevin De Bruyne to Chelsea has been finalized. However he will stay in Genk on loan for the rest of this season.
As always Dirk Degraen refused to comment on transfer deals that didn't go through. "For the simple reason that these deals could go through in the future," Degraen told the press. Degraen confirmed that Genk made an enourmous amount of money on outgoing transfers in the last six months. "Money that will be invested in the sports future of the club almost entirely," Degraen vowed.
As of today Gunter Jacob takes up the position of director of football responsible for scouting, medical staff, youth academy and technical staff. For all other matters concerning the club Dirk Degraen continues to be responsible.
At the same press conference Dirk Degraen looked back on the past three years. "We were forced to fall back on our youth academy for new blood. We plan to continue that policy, we will invest in it even more. That is why I'm convinced, more than ever, that we are on our way to becoming a real top club," Degraen concluded.
