As a result of certain press reports on the alleged involvement of Christian Benteke in a car-jacking, KRC Genk deeply deplore the content of these reports.
Christian Benteke was heard as a witness in an inquiry by the Liège office of the public prosecutor. The player has fully co-operated in the inquiry and formally denies his involvement in any kind of criminal activities.
Neither the player nor the club will make any further comments to this matter.
