De Bruyne out for 4 to 6 weeks

Kevin De Bruyne underwent a further medical exam in the Genk hospital. The verdict is pretty harsh. A ruptured calf muscle and torn ligaments between fibula and tibia will keep him off the pitch for four to six weeks.

Kevin De Bruyne was transported to the Genk hospital for a medical check-up last Saturday evening. The dreaded fractured fibula was not confirmed by the X-rays. Kevin De Bruyne suffered the injury in the final seconds of the game at Lierse. After a day and a half of resting he will undergo a new medical exam next Monday to ascertain the gravity of his injury.
KRC Genk to take on Maccabi Haifa (Israel)

The draw for the Champions League play-off took place in Nyon today. Genk take on Maccabi Haifa (Israël) and start with an away game. The first leg is scheduled on Wednesday August 17th in the Ramat Gan stadium in Tel Aviv. Kick-off at 20.45hrs Belgian time (21.45hrs local time), the return game will be held on Tuesday August 23rd in the Cristal Arena (kick-off 20.45 hrs).
