Dimitri has been part of the KRC family since 2011 and we are delighted that his stay will be extended until at least 2029. This is a contract extension that underlines the ambition of our club.

“For me it was not only the choice of the mind, but also the choice of the heart. I live and breathe KRC Genk, so I am very happy that my blue blood can continue to flow until at least 2029. I take on this challenge with great enthusiasm to ensure that we can consolidate our place at the top with our unique model.” - Dimitri de Condé

Dimi started as a youth coach at the Jos Vaessen Talent Academy, where he quickly convinced the club with his football vision. In 2015 he was promoted to Technical Director, a role he has fulfilled with flying colours for eight years now. The sporting business model of the club, in which sporting successes are linked to the promotion and development of young talents towards the top European leagues, has been optimised under his leadership, always with an eye for the values with which KRC Genk has grown. This led to one league title, one cup win and two super cups under his sporting reign. In addition, we have finished second twice during this period. Successful incoming and outgoing transfers are the basis of KRC Genk's current financial strength. In 2021, this led to promotion to Head of Football. Since then he has been responsible for all football-related matters within the club, and he directs the sporting vision from the first team through to the youth academy.

“Dimitri personifies the DNA of our club,” said chairman Peter Croonen. “As a board, it was one of our priorities to set up Dimi within KRC Genk and thus guarantee the sporting continuity of the club. He has succeeded, despite concrete foreign interest. This marks an important step in the context of sporting stability, especially in a time when the football landscape is changing faster than ever before."

Dimitri himself is proud of the trust the club places in him. “For me it was not only the choice of the mind, but also the choice of the heart. I live and breathe KRC Genk, so I am very happy that my blue blood can continue to flow until at least 2029.”

KRC Genk has become one of the top clubs in Belgium in recent years, the third-most successful based on trophies won over the past 25 years. “It is with great enthusiasm that I take up the challenge to ensure that we maintain our place at the top with our unique model. I am proud that the club sees me as the ideal person for this,” said a satisfied Head of Football Dimitri de Condé.
