KRC Genk has once again seen a player join one of the top five European leagues. The club has reached an agreement with Cremonese for the transfer of Cyriel Dessers.

In the summer of 2020, after a few tough seasons in the Eredivisie, Cyriel joined from Heracles Almelo. For his achievements with the club, he was rewarded with a debut for the Nigerian national team. However, with an incredibly strong Paul Onuachu as the team’s starting striker, he could not become a first team regular at KRC Genk. He did, however, fill a place in his trophy cabinet as a Belgian Cup winner.

The summer 2021 transfer window brought a solution to this, with a loan to Feyenoord. Cyril

had a great season and finished as runner-up in the Europa Conference League. However, Feyenoord were unable to exercise his purchase option, so Cyriel rejoined KRC Genk for the preseason. He was immediately one of the top scorers at the start of the Belgian league season.

Cyriel has decided to push for his dream and head to one of the top European leagues. We thank Cyriel for his efforts for KRC Genk and wish him every success in his further career!

Thanks, and good luck, Cyriel!
