Jong Genk have secured a new addition with Naoki Kumata to strengthen their attacking line-up. The Japanese striker is rented for one year from FC Tokyo in his homeland. KRC Genk also negotiated a right of first refusal.

Solid striker with technical baggage

Naoki Kumata is booked as a talented striker who combines physical presence with strong technical skills. He already made 10 appearances for the Japanese national youth teams in which he showed his nose for goals with 7 goals.

Kumata is leased for one season from Tokyo FC which plays in the Japanese first division. KRC Genk also negotiated a right of first refusal on the 19-year-old Japanese player.

Technical coordinator of Jong Genk, Stijn Haeldermans, is excited about the arrival of the new striker at Jong Genk. "We are very pleased to have been able to add Naoki to our team. He is a very complete modern striker who combines depth with ball retention and has an excellent left."

The young Japanese himself sounds burningly ambitious: "I want to give myself time to adapt to the environment here in Genk. Afterwards, I hope to contribute to the success of Jong Genk. In time, I want to grow into the first team," it sounds.

On behalf of the whole KRC Genk family, we extend a warm welcome to Naoki and wish him every success in this new challenge in his football career.
