In a recent publication, the leading CIES Football Observatory ranked nearly 800 clubs from 48 leagues worldwide based on the average age of their first-team acquisitions in the past 10 transfer periods (from July 2019 to now). In the list, KRC Genk flaunts an impressive sixth place. Our club, with an average age of 23.25 at recruitment, is in the elite company of clubs such as RB Salzburg, RB Bragantino, Athletic Club Bilbao and Shaktar Donetsk.

This ranking is a great illustration of KRC Genk's values and vision. For years, our club's acquisition policy has focused on young, talented and ambitious players to train them into the best versions of themselves under the KRC Genk banner and according to our values and standards.

This list confirms our consistent way of working in identifying, developing and integrating young players into the first team, and for the past two seasons also at Jong Genk. This way of working, coupled with a strong youth operation, is deeply rooted in our club's DNA and forms the basis of our success at national and international level with respect for our way of working growing season after season in Belgium and far beyond.
