On Monday, the ball rolled again at H.Essers Talent Park. Several hundred supporters who turned up also saw a revamped technical staff sign present at the first training session of the preparations. Besides head coach Thorsten Fink, assistant coach Sebastion Hahn and Physical coach Goran Kontic, another new face took to the immaculate turf with Przemyslaw Lagozny. The Pole will be added to the staff as chief analyst.
Old acquaintances
Besides the newcomers, some familiar faces also turned up. Domenico Oliveiri and Michel Ribeiro remain on the staff. Domenico will again focus on the defensive department this season. Michel can indulge as a technique coach. Peter Persoons will stay on as an analyst on Lagozny's side. As Sports Scientist, Arnaud Serruys, together with Physical coach Kontic, will look after the players' physical preparedness.
Where there are newcomers, there are also leavers. After more than 10 seasons, head physiotherapist Jan Theunis decided to seek a new challenge after last season. Matthias Didden moved on and took over his duties. Because the new coach brought his own physical coach from Sint-Truiden, performance coach Bram Swinnen's role was filled twice. As a result, the club and Swinnen mutually decided to end the collaboration. KRC Genk is very grateful for the work done and for the structure Swinnen has built up over the years and wishes him every success in the further course of his career.
