KRC Genk have handed Shakhmurat Dauletov a professional contract. The young Kazakh winger (17) arrived in Genk two summers ago and has now signed a three-year deal with the club, keeping him in blue and white until the summer of 2029. Dauletov will link up with Jong Genk immediately.
Dauletov has made impressive progress through the KRC Genk Academy in recent seasons. Last season, he was a key player in the title-winning U18 side, scoring nine goals in 20 appearances.
With his pace and technical ability, Dauletov is an exciting prospect on the wing. He can play on either flank, although he prefers the right, where he combines his ability to beat defenders with end product in the final third.
The club firmly believes in the young winger’s potential to develop further. His move to Jong Genk marks the next challenge in his development.
“Shakhmurat made clear progress last season. He has pace and explosiveness, is willing to take on defenders and has also shown that he can deliver end product. Moving up to Jong Genk is the right next step for him. We believe Shakhmurat still has plenty of room to develop,” said Stijn Haeldermans, Technical Coordinator at Jong Genk.
Dauletov will join Jong Genk with immediate effect and will travel with the squad to Maasmechelen this weekend for the Limburg derby against Patro Eisden.
The entire KRC Genk family wishes Shakhmurat every success as he continues his development in blue and white.
