Felice Mazzu is KRC Genk's new head coach! Mazzu joins us from Sporting Charleroi and signs a contract of indefinite duration in Genk.

53 year old Mazzu grew up in Charleroi in a miners family of Italian origin. After coaching in Tubize and White Star Woluwe among others, he returned to Charleroi as their head coach in 2013. Since then he qualified his team for Play Off 1 three times and for European football once.

Since 6 years Mazzu performs at the highest level in the Belgian top flight. He provided Charleroi with continuity, a strong tactical plan and results. That earned him the 'Raymond Goethals prize' in 2017. In 2018 he was elected 'Coach of the Year' at the Golden Boot Gala.

“Felice is for us the ideal new head coach” KRC Genk's Director of Sports Dimitri de Condé says. “He is very competent. The things he achieved in Charleroi during the past 6 years are impressive. He has the right drive. He is determined to do well in Genk. He fits our DNA. Felice is a warrior, a true winner. The fans can rest assured, in the upcoming season the players will wet their shirts again.”

Welcome in Genk Felice Mazzu! Good luck!
