A diamond in the rough

Arokodare comes to the club from the French second division side SC Amiens. In France’s Ligue 2, he has managed to score eight times in 23 matches and provide two assists. Standing 1.97 meters, Genk’s new signing is not much smaller than his predecessor. He is a player who has been on Genk's wish list for some time; Coach Wouter Vrancken was very much in favour of his arrival.

“Despite his height, he is very agile, fast in the first meters and strong with his head,” said Dimitri de Condé as he explained the choice of Genk’s new striker. “Tolu is already showing flashes of his class today. In addition, there is also a lot of room for growth. Under the eyes of our technical staff, he will be able to take big steps forward in the coming years. We have proven with several other young talents that KRC Genk is the ideal environment for this.”

Tolu Arokodare himself is also delighted with his new home: “I am very happy to be here in Genk. At this point in my career, I can't imagine a better club. Together with the team, I hope to continue the good results from the first half of the season, and to win trophies. Paul leaves big shoes to fill, but I am determined to give 100% for this great club.”

The whole club wishes Tolu every success.
