On March 30, KRC Genk opened the KRC Jongdementie café in the Cegeka Arena together with Belgian Minister of Welfare Hilde Crevits and Alzheimer Liga Vlaanderen.

It’s a first in our country. From now on, the club’s Jongdementie Café will welcome people with early-onset dementia, partners and children of people with early-onset dementia on non-match days. There, they can meet with each other in a family atmosphere. Lectures and workshops will be given together with Alzheimer Liga Vlaanderen and vzw Menos. “With this unique first, we hope to convince other football clubs and, by extension, organizations to jump on the bandwagon and make early-onset dementia a topic of discussion”, say the project’s initiators.
