KRC Genk U18 crowned themselves national champions with flying colours after a thrilling away match against OH Leuven, in which we triumphed 0-2. An early goal from Touré and a late goal from Nuozzi were enough to secure the deserved victory. Our boys won no less than 16 out of 21 games this season, a particularly fine performance. With one game to play, the lead over first pursuer RSC Anderlecht, is four points.
With this new national title, KRC Genk U18 once again secured European football next season. After a year's absence, we will once again participate in the UEFA Youth League. There we can compete with the best youth teams in Europe. In our previous European campaign, we overcame the likes of Slavia Prague and Juventus. Our boys also had a unique experience last season by taking on their Atlético Madrid peers in front of 20,000 spectators at the mythical Metropolotina stadium. Next season, we can once again compete with Europe's top sides.
