KRC Genk is delighted to announce that Patrik Hrošovský has extended his contract by an additional year, keeping him at the club until June 2026. His previous deal was set to expire at the end of this season.
Impressiv track record
The 32-year-old Slovak midfielder joined Genk in 2019 after a successful period at Viktoria Plzeň in the Czech Republic, where he won three league titles. He is now in his sixth season in blue and white, having played over 220 official matches, scoring 18 goals and providing 17 assists.
"KRC Genk has become my second home," says Hrošovský. "My family and I feel great here, and my children were born in Genk. This club holds a special place in my heart."
Beyond his club career, Hrošovský has been a key player for the Slovakian national team, featuring in each of the last three European Championships.
Special connection with the fans
Patrik is highly regarded by supporters for his tireless work ethic and dedication—respect that is mutual. "I try to be the best version of myself every day and set an example for the younger players, both on and off the pitch. I feel a special connection with the fans. Hearing them chant my name is an incredible feeling. I hope to give something special back to them with the team by the end of the season," he says with ambition.
A key role on and off the pitch
"My vision and tactical awareness help me bring composure on the ball, but also allow me to speed up the game at the right moments," the Slovak explains about his strengths.
Technical director Dimitri de Condé is pleased that the experienced midfielder will remain in the Genk dressing room for another year: "We are very happy that Patrik is continuing his journey with our club. His experience brings balance to our young squad. He is the definition of a model professional, someone our young talents can learn a lot from."
The entire Genk family wishes Hrošovský continued success in his career at KRC Genk.
