After two and a half seasons in blue and white, KRC Genk bids farewell to Tolu Arokodare. The 24-year-old striker will continue his career in the English Premier League with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Tolu joined Genk in January 2023 from French side Amiens SC. Under the guidance of Thorsten Fink, he developed into an indispensable part of the starting eleven.
The 2024-2025 campaign marked his real breakthrough. With 21 goals and 6 assists, Tolu was the most decisive player in the league. His outstanding performances also earned him the 2025 Ebony Shoe, awarded to the best player of African origin in the Jupiler Pro League. On top of that, his form was recognized internationally: in March, he made his debut for the Nigerian national team.
In total, Tolu featured 113 times for KRC Genk, scoring 41 goals and providing 12 assists. With his physical presence and sharp eye for goal, he left a lasting impression on teammates, staff, and supporters alike.
KRC Genk thanks Tolu for his dedication and wishes him every success as he takes the next step in his promising career.
