With the arrival of Jeppe Erenbjerg, KRC Genk add a player who already knows the Belgian league and is ready to make an immediate impact. The attacking midfielder combines end product with outstanding work rate, game intelligence and tactical versatility. A profile that perfectly matches the club’s ambition to compete at the very top once again.

Last season, Erenbjerg recorded 13 goals and 5 assists in the Jupiler Pro League, confirming the impressive numbers he had previously produced in both the Challenger Pro League and Denmark.

A winner's mentality

But Erenbjerg offers much more than statistics. Over the past three seasons, he has celebrated two league titles, underlining his winning mentality and his ability to perform in teams competing for silverware. At Zulte Waregem, he also became a fan favourite as club captain and was voted Player of the Season by the supporters last campaign.

It comes as no surprise. Erenbjerg is known as a player who embraces responsibility and carries significant influence both on and off the pitch. Physically, he also fits perfectly into the direction KRC Genk is taking. In terms of intensity and running capacity, his profile is comparable to those seen at the highest level of European football.

Technical quality and tactical flexibility

The Danish midfielder also provides additional options for head coach Nicky Hayen. While his natural position is as a central attacking midfielder behind the striker, he is equally comfortable operating from the right flank. Thanks to his technical ability, speed of execution, vertical passing and ability to make penetrating runs, he is an ideal fit for the attacking and dominant style of football KRC Genk want to play.

Sporting Director Dimitri de Condé is delighted to secure Erenbjerg's arrival early in the transfer window:

“Jeppe brings something every team is looking for: proven output. He has shown in both Denmark and Belgium that he can make the difference with goals and assists. We are signing a player who is ready to add value to our squad from day one, both on and off the pitch. That is why it is particularly important that he can be part of pre-season from the very beginning.”

Jeppe Erenbjerg is equally excited about the move:

“For me, this feels like the right step at the right time. KRC Genk is a club with a clear identity, great ambition and a style of play that suits me perfectly. I have got to know the Belgian league and understand what it takes to perform here. Now I want to use my experience and determination to compete for trophies with this club. I am ready to give everything for KRC Genk and its supporters.”

KRC Genk warmly welcome Jeppe and wish him every success in blue and white.
