Kevin Amaro is a KRC Genk player. The 22-year-old Uruguayan joins the club from Liverpool Montevideo in his homeland and has signed a five-year contract at the Cegeka Arena.

Amaro is an athletic, attack-minded right-back with an impressive physical profile. His explosiveness, stamina and strength in duels are among his biggest assets. He combines power and pace with a strong mentality and a willingness to fight for every inch. Those qualities make Amaro an excellent fit for the style of football KRC Genk want to play. He is expected to add more penetration and dynamism down the right, while providing an attacking threat in the final third.

“Kevin is a player who fits perfectly with the footballing identity we want to represent at KRC Genk,” says Head of Football Dimitri de Condé. “With his grit and determination, he is exactly the type of player Genk supporters come to the stadium to see. The fact that a world-class coach like Marcelo Bielsa has already called him up to the Uruguay national team on three occasions says a lot about his quality and potential.”

Amaro came through the entire youth system at Liverpool Montevideo before making his Primera División debut in August 2022. He subsequently established himself as a regular in the first team, making more than 75 appearances for the club. With Liverpool Montevideo, he won the league title in the 2023-24 season and lifted the Supercopa twice.

The Uruguayan also has international experience under his belt. He made his senior debut for Uruguay in September 2025 and has since earned three caps for his country.

Amaro has signed a five-year contract in Genk, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2031.

Welcome to Genk, Kevin.
