KRC Genk reached an agreement with Atalanta Bergamo on the transfer of Ruslan Malinovskyi.
26 year old Malinovskyi played in Genk since January 2016, on loan from Shakhtar Doñetsk at first. From the start, KRC Genk believed in the Ukrainian midfielder and lifted the option to buy in July 2017.
Because of his determination and excellent technique Ruslan soon became a key player. The past season turned out to be the ultimate culmination point. Ruslan was strong as iron, played no less than 51 games, scored 16 goals and provided 16 assists. He was nominated for Football Pro of the Year and won the Golden Boot from our fans.
Our fourth title was the title of the entire club collectively but undoubtedly partly Ruslans title as well.
After three and a half seasons his adventure in Genk is over. Ruslan now leaves us for Atalanta Bergamo in the Serie A where he will join Timothy Castagne on the pitch. Two "Genkies", two ambassadors in one of the strongest leagues in the world.
