Razer, the world's largest manufacturer of hardware for gamers, has entered into a three-year partnership with KRC Genk Esports. It is the first time that the American lifestyle brand has partnered with a team from Benelux, as well as the first time that they have partnered with an esports team that was developed at a football club. KRC Genk Esports and Razer want to bring esports closer to the top of the sporting world together.

Razer's high-quality esports hardware, combined with KRC Genk Esports' experience and knowledge in the fields of physical and mental training should ensure a team that is ready for success internationally. The partnership will run until the end of 2024 and this means that KRC Genk Esports esports athletes will exclusively use Razer's products, both in training and competition.

By bringing together one of the most successful sports clubs in Belgium and the largest esports brand, KRC Genk and Razer will demonstrate how closely connected elite sports and esports are,” said Yann Salsedo, Head of Esports (EMEA) at Razer. “Together we will take esports to the next level by combining our esports hardware with KRC Genk's expertise at the top of the sporting world. The goal is to improve the players even further and lead them to international success.

Exclusive use of Razer hardware, and custom designs for KRC Genk Esports

KRC Genk Esports was founded in February 2020. Since then, the team has continuously expanded into new games, while having plenty of sporting success, as witnessed by their third-place finish in the 2021 Belgian League, the second year of the Belgian division of League of Legends European Regional League (ERL). This partnership with Razer includes exclusive use of peripherals, audio hardware, consoles, systems, broadcasting technology and gaming chairs. In addition, KRC Genk Esports will also be part of Razer's research and development program for new esports products.

There is good news for fans of KRC Genk Esports as well: Officially licensed KRC Genk Esports designs will soon be available on Razer Customs. This will allow fans to personalise their Razer products with designs, images, stickers and even their own gaming handle.

Stefano Pinna and the team in Razer's Wellness Program

In addition, KRC Genk Esports players will participate in Razer's “Champions Start from Within” Wellness Program that focuses on physical activity, mental health, sleep and nutrition.

The mental and physical aspect is crucial to perform optimally in top sport; that is also the case in esports. We see great added value in Razer's Wellness Program," says Bram Bartels, Esports Coordinator at KRC Genk Esports. “It is a win-win situation. Thanks to Razer, we can arm our players with the best tools and resources available so they can always be playing in optimal conditions and staying competitive. Our players, in turn, will provide valuable feedback as we develop new esports hardware together.”
