It’s a new and important contract extension for our club! Kristian Thorstvedt has extended his contract with our club until the summer of 2025. The Norwegian midfielder's current contract had been set to expire in the middle of next year.
Kristian Thorstvedt came to Genk from Norwegian Viking FK in early 2020 and quickly grew into a key figure on and off the pitch. He scored on his debut, before struggling for a while with a foot injury, but came back strong. Kristian became a key figure in the team that completed a magnificent cup run and eventually finished champions via a fantastic display in the play-offs. He also excelled in those matches with dominant performances and four important goals.
All told, Kristian has played 82 matches for our club, scoring 16 times.
Due to his development at Genk, our battling Norwegian has also opened the door to a place in his national team, where he has also become a key element in no time. He has scored four times in 13 international matches.
We are pleased and proud that someone with the profile and potential of Kristian Thorstvedt has committed to the club for an extended period.
