How healthy is your club? With that question, the newspaper Het Nieuwsblad went to sports economist Wim Lagae who scrutinised all clubs in the Jupiler Pro League. As it turns out, KRC Genk received a major award.

"Genk gets a big award on the management report. With their dark green equity, they have been able to absorb the corona shock. With that money, they can now also finance a brand new €20 million training complex with their own funds. They have a very good youth academy, which allows them to regularly sell young talents for a lot of money. And their commercial cell and marketing department are very proactive," KU Leuven sports economist Wim Lagae was full of praise.

The Genk youth operation and scouting apparatus also received praise from the Nieuwsblad. With Vandevoordt, El Khannouss and Heynen there are a number of youth players in the first team, with Oyen, Karetsas, Claes and Kongolo also quite a few on the bench.
