The Anderlecht - KRC Genk match of 23 December last year will not be replayed after all. After two independent bodies, the Disciplinary Council and the Evocation Commission of the KBVB, had already followed KRC Genk's legal reasoning, today the Belgian Court of Arbitration for Sport (BAS) has made the final decision not to replay the match after all. This ruling is final.

There is disappointment within the club following the BAS ruling. But we strengthen ourselves in the thought that we have defended our rights to the maximum within the regulatory framework that exists today. This was not the first and possibly not the last match whose ruling was legally challenged. It is up to the regulator to change the rules of the game if it feels that this approach is not desirable. We hope that serenity can now return and the focus can be put back on the essentials, namely sporting performance on the pitch.

All our energy now goes to the battle for the Champions' Play-Offs. Starting with the home game against Standard, next Sunday.

Forza Racing!
