On Wednesday morning, KRC Genk unveiled their new third kit for the 2025–2026 season under the campaign slogan“Waar wij ook gaan”. The shirt and its accompanying campaign symbolize Genk’s history, carried proudly across borders by both club and supporters. The first team will wear the new kit for the very first time on Thursday in the UEFA Europa League Play-off return leg against Polish side Lech Poznań.
Junya Ito and his teammates will kick off Thursday evening’s decisive clash at the Cegeka Arena in the brand-new third kit for the 2025–2026 season. The gold design, featuring coal-inspired patterns, pays tribute to the city’s rich mining heritage and the so-called “black gold” on which the Genk community was built. The mines not only fueled economic prosperity but also sparked a lasting fusion of identities and backgrounds that continues to define Genk today.
"From our mining city, we’ve always made a lasting impression in Europe in our own unique way as a club. In the upcoming European campaign, too, we want to proudly carry our history to every corner of the continent. This shirt is the perfect expression of that," said Head of Business Sem Franssen.
From supporters, for supporters
The campaign slogan “Waar wij ook gaan” is no coincidence. The line is the title of one of the best-known Genk supporters’ chants and truly rings in the ears of every fan. The shirt was therefore designed in close collaboration with Tribune Zuid and the Overarching Supporters’ Union (OSV).
The launch of the new third kit also marks the start of what promises to be a memorable European autumn, as KRC Genk set out to travel across Europe with pride. Fink and his players are eager to add a new chapter to the club’s history of magical European nights.
Supporters can purchase the new shirt now, both in the fanshop and online.
