KRC Genk and Konstantinos Karetsas will continue their partnership. Last season, at the age of 17, “Kos” signed a multi-year contract running until the summer of 2027, the maximum commitment allowed for a minor. Now freshly 18, he once again confirms his choice for the blue and white. He extends his stay at KRC Genk by two additional seasons, until the summer of 2029.

For years, Karetsas has been regarded as one of the biggest talents to emerge from the Genk Academy — and far beyond. Last season, he made his mark in the first team, immediately impressing with his velvet-soft technique. At the Pro League Awards, his strike against AA Gent was voted Goal of the Season.

In recent weeks, Karetsas has completely exploded: in 5 matches across the league, Croky Cup and Europa League, he delivered 6 assists. He also showcased his impact with the Greek national team. During the latest international break, he again started and crowned his performance with a goal, earning Man of the Match in the 3–2 win over Scotland.

Head of Football Dimitri de Condé:
“Konstantinos is a player with exceptional qualities. He has already made impressive strides at a young age, first within our academy and then in the first team. The fact that he is now adding statistics to his performances confirms his enormous potential. We are proud that he is wholeheartedly choosing KRC Genk. Everyone with blue blood is determined to make this a success story together.”

By securing Karetsas for a longer period, KRC Genk once again underlines its vision: giving young talents opportunities, helping them grow, and ultimately allowing them to shine at the highest level — in Limburg and far beyond.
