The 18-year-old joins from Beerschot and has put pen to paper on a four-and-a-half-year deal, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2030. Doucouré will link up with the first-team squad for daily training sessions, while he will initially feature in competitive matches for Jong Genk.
Doucouré is known as a proactive, modern goalkeeper. He started his football journey as an outfield player at Berchem Sport before being converted into a goalkeeper, a background that underlines his strong distribution and comfort in possession — key attributes within Genk’s playing philosophy. After spells with KV Mechelen, he moved to Beerschot, where he made his Jupiler Pro League debut last season at the age of just 17.
At international level, Doucouré is a regular at youth level for Belgium. The Belgian-Malian goalkeeper also earned one cap with Mali’s U23 side. Following positive talks with goalkeeping coach Guy Martens, he ultimately committed his international future to Belgium. With the arrival of Emile Doucouré, KRC Genk continues to invest in young goalkeeping talent. The club firmly believes in his potential and provides a high-performance environment in which he can develop step by step towards the highest level.
“I’m well aware of KRC Genk’s track record in developing goalkeepers,” said the Antwerp-born goalkeeper. “I had extensive contact with Guy Martens and immediately felt a strong connection with the club. This was the right move for my career. I want to keep developing as a goalkeeper here. I’m surrounded by the right people, and my dream is to earn my place in the first team.”
KRC Genk welcomes Emile Doucouré and wishes him every success in blue and white.
